Our unique whiskey glass design
Why is whiskey (or whisky) more enjoyable from a whiskey glass than a standard spirit glass? A key difference between whiskey and other spirits is the higher ethanol concentration. Whiskey has a legal minimum of 40% alcohol (i.e. ethanol), but it can go as high as mid-60s. Ethanol is a colourless and flammable liquid that is produced by fermenting sugar or starch.
Our whiskey glasses are contoured with a 45mm rim to “direct” the volatile aromatic compounds of the ethanol away from the nasal passage (similar to nosing glasses used by master blenders), preventing the ethanol from overwhelming the flavour of your whiskey.

Are whiskey glasses heavy?
Yes — but they’re supposed to be. The bottom of the tumbler is extra thick to prevent the liquid from being warmed by your hand. The intention is to keep the whiskey/liquor as cold for as long as possible and stop the ice from melting so quickly.
